The Certified Corporate Trust Professional™ is a certification for professionals working in Corporate Trust activities in the public and private sectors.
Requirements
- Complete an approved study program
- Complete the CCTP™ application
- Submit a Letter of Recommendation
- Agree and sign the CCTP™ Professional Ethics and Code of Conduct Standards
- Pay the CCTP™ exam fee
- Pass the CCTP™ exam
Qualifications
- Three years of industry experience and a four-year degree from an accredited college or university OR
- Five years of industry experience OR
- An equivalency exemption from the CCTP™ Board of Standards

- A broad understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a corporate trustee including specific knowledge of their fiduciary obligations
- A thorough knowledge of the types of financial instruments which corporate trust departments most often deal with from U.S. government obligations to municipal bonds to mortgage-backed securities, and the differences between them
- A detailed knowledge of the Trust Indenture Act and other securities laws which apply specifically, to your work
- An understanding of risk management, including the most common errors and omissions and ways to reduce them
- A broad knowledge of standard account policies and procedures used in the field.

A CCTP™ holder must meet three mutually inclusive requirements to maintain their active status:
- Uphold the CCTP™ Professional Ethics and Code of Conduct Standards
- Pay the annual renewal fee of $200
- Complete and provide proof of 30 hours (two of which must be ethics) of continuing education (CE) every three years after achieving the designation
